Around the house
Find a nice spot in the garden to sunbathe on a deck chair or take along your book and enjoy it in the shade of the fruit trees. Have a glass of wine and relax, enjoying a superb sunset.

Do you want to explore the surrounding area? You can choose your route starting directly from the house. There are detailed maps available.

If it is a pleasant evening, we light a fire outside and you can enjoy the impressive sky with thousands of stars. If you would rather stay in your room or use the lounge, we are happy to light a fire for you there!
In the evening, you can relax and enjoy a film in our intimate and comfortable home-cinema room. Our selection of films are highly appreciated by reviewers, with some less known by the general public.
A selection of our personal film offers:
Ray: beautiful story with Swing music concerning the life of Ray Charles.
As it is in heaven: emotional story about a composer who returns to his birth village, to set up a choir by which he changes the lives of all the members.
Baghdad Café: moving film in which the environment in `Baghdad café' undergoes a transformation by the arrival of a German tourist.
To swim and to canoe
Do you want to cool down and swim? In the surrounding area there are several lakes within about 15 miles. The splendid Lac de Chaumeçon offers clear water to swim, to fish or canoe.
The Étang de Vaux is a nice recreational lake where sailing boats and canoes can be hired.

A really nice experience is a trip by kayak of 5 or 14 miles through the beautiful Morvan. If you do not have a car, we can drive you there and pick you up for a small charge.

Culture
In the immediate area you can explore the splendid Burgundy towns and villages such as Vézélay, Clamecy, Saint Père, and also the less well-known Tannay and Corbigny.

Tannay , the nearest town at just 4 miles from Vignol, has a bar and café, a supermarket with ATM, post office and pharmacy.
Nearly all the local towns, as well as many villages, also have wineries, where you can taste the local wines including the fine Mélon and Ratafia.
Also worth visiting is the castle of Vauban at Bazoches, the Basilica church in Vézélay and the interesting salt water fountains near Saint Père.
